Caitlin Malin
Caitlin Malin first came to Camp Knutson as a summer program specialist in 2013, planning on staying only one summer. When she fell in love with Camp Knutson, she returned the following two summers as Camp’s activities coordinator. That, of course, meant her ties to Camp Knutson only grew stronger. In 2016, Caitlin was hired full-time as program coordinator as part of the transition team when the former assistant director retired. She is now fully enjoying her current position as director of services.
Caitlin says this about Camp Knutson,
“Every day I come to camp, my heart is continuously filled with joy. Camp Knutson has given me the opportunity to work alongside those who share their endless love, energy, and compassion to each of our campers. My favorite part about camp is when campers or staff accomplish something new that they never thought they could. Campers experience new strength, confidence, friendships and courage to be themselves while at camp. To witness that every day is very humbling. Camp Knutson is a one-of-a-kind experience. It is a true honor to be a part of it.”
Caitlin grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. Her passion and inspiration to work with people with disabilities stems from her younger brother, who was born with Down syndrome. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Child Life Specialty from UW-La Crosse. She is currently a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a Certified Child Life Specialist.
Caitlin loves being outdoors, hiking, being on the water, playing sports, volunteering, spending time with family and friends, and taking naps!
