Transition after high school: PICS service options
PICS loves celebrating transitions! A lot of changes happen for young adults as they get ready for life after high school. At PICS (Partners in Community Supports), we’re here to help you find services that meet your needs.
We offer a variety of services for individuals who receive support—funded through a waiver program—in their own home and community. While Consumer Directed Community Support (CDCS) is a service often used by students, Individualized Home Supports (IHS) may be a good fit for individuals who have recently transitioned out of the school system.
Through IHS, PICS provides IHS staffing, respite and homemaker services. IHS is a popular choice for people who are utilizing day support services. Often, the IHS budget supports the cost of day support services better than a CDCS budget can.
If you are considering switching from your current program to IHS, you can continue to receive services from PICS. Ask your lead agency representative if it is right for you. Then, get in touch with PICS enrollment team to get started.
Congratulations to those nearing this important milestone! Let us know how we can help you during this transitional period.
