RentHelpMN
If you have experienced hardship due to the pandemic and need assistance to pay your rent or utility bills, you may be eligible for COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA). This service is for all Minnesota residents. Phase one is currently open for people who owe back-rent. Phase two will open soon and allow people to apply for upcoming rent. RentHelpMN currently offers up to 15 months of assistance for both rent and utilities.
Hennepin County Emergency General Assistance
This service through Hennepin County offers county residents emergency general assistance to help with temporary shelter, housing costs like rent and utilities, foreclosure prevention, and extra food support. This service is ongoing and continuously open.
Minnesota Community Action Partnership
This program is a statewide network of agencies that provide energy/utility assistance as well as other resources. Many also offer job programs, meal programs and other housing-related programs.
