In addition to the services we provide specifically in the Alexandria Area, we also offer many services statewide. If you don’t see what you are looking for, give us a call at 888.881.8261 or find an office near you. We will be happy to assist you in finding the resources you need.
Chemical Dependency Education Programs
We offer education programs related to substance abuse and chemical dependency. Children and their parents/guardians have the opportunity to learn about the risks and effects of substance use, assess the impact substances have in their own lives, and ask questions in a safe, supportive environment.
Yield
Yield is an informational course about the risks and effects of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. The program is designed for teens, but parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend.
Choices
Choices is designed for teens who may already have challenges with chemical use. Through education about chemical dependency, decision-making, safety and communication, teens and their parents/guardians have the opportunity to explore both short- and long-term effects of substance use.
Incredible Years Parenting Program
The Incredible Years Parenting Program is a 12-week program that teaches you the ins and outs of parenting. From time-outs and consequence to incentives and rewards, our staff will teach you parenting techniques that are effective and designed for the best mental health outcome. Dinner and childcare will be provided free of charge at each session.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Childhood emotion and behavior disorders often influence the way parents and children interact. Through a combination of observation, therapeutic coaching and skill building, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) strengthens the relationship you have with your child and positively impacts your child’s emotions and behaviors.
School-Based Treatment
To make our services more accessible, we place staff in Wheaton area schools (Traverse County) so that your child can receive services during their school day. Our school-based staff provide diagnostic assessments, as well as therapy for children with emotion and behavior diagnoses.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Our team recognizes the immense impact trauma can have. For children and families who have experienced trauma, TF-CBT is an effective and recommended treatment option. In this trauma-focused therapy, our staff will help your child and family manage feelings, talk about trauma in a safe and supportive space, and develop plans for feeling safe in the future.
