We invite your church to partner with organizations serving children at risk of sexual exploitation or trafficking.
As we learn to "do justice," we can connect with organizations working to prevent homelessness, sexual exploitation, or sex trafficking. Connecting children and youth with shelter and housing, basic needs items like food and clothing, mental health counseling, and employment makes them less vulnerable to those who prey on young people and exploit them. Organizations serving children who have been sexually exploited or trafficked do the careful work of providing trauma-informed care, empowering young people to begin the journey toward safety and healing.
These organizations need our support.
The organizations in this directory help children and youth to feel and be safe. They are all 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. Our offers of volunteer work, in-kind donations, and funding allow them to serve more children, who in turn are less likely to be exploited.
Your partnership with one of these organizations is vital to providing the care these children and youth need.
How do you begin? Find an organization in cities throughout Minnesota with which your church might partner. Visit the agency. Ask them what their greatest need is. Can your church help? If not, is there another way you can provide assistance? Invite a staff member to do a presentation to your church. If this agency is not a good fit, contact another one.
Outside of Minnesota? Use this directory as a model to create one for your local community. You can start with a web search such as "Anti-trafficking youth organizations" in your state.
