Mary Jo’s orientation to counseling is based strongly in psychodynamic and family systems therapy principles as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques. Accordingly, she will assist people in gaining insight regarding their concerns, frequently in the context of their past and present relationships, while also promoting healthy thought patterns and behavioral changes.
Mary Jo has 13 years’ experience and is a licensed mental health professional. Mary Jo gained her Master's degree in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University. Her life experiences include serving in the U.S. Navy, marriage and parenting four children to adulthood. Mary Jo is also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
